Breaking: Utley has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Dodgers

The Dodgers ended their season with a lot of uncertainty going forward. A lot of their top players were scheduled to become free agents. As the weeks went on during the off season, the Dodgers free agents came back. The Dodgers announced the signings of Rich Hill, then Justin Turner and then Kenley Jansen. One free agent that may have not garnered as much attention as the other high profile free agents was Dodgers second baseman, Chase Utley. Utley may no longer be the All-Star player he was with the Philadelphia Phillies but you wouldn’t know that if you asked any Dodger player. We took a look at what Utley brings to the Dodgers. Utley is the type of leader and player that brings out the best in his teammates. He plays the game hard and the right way every inning and every at-bat. Chase Utley is what a ball player is supposed to be.

Well tonight there are reports that Chase Utley has agreed to return to the Dodgers on a one year deal.

Utley will continue to provide that veteran leadership and provide days off for Logan Forsythe, Adrian Gonzalez and even Justin Turner at third base.

Utley hit .252/.319/.716 with 14 homers and 52 RBIs last season. His has a .278/.361/.833 in his career. These is still no word on the worth of the deal.
