Dodgers Head to Chicago After Loss to Giants

A pair of homeruns was all it took for the Giants to avoid the sweep in the series finale at Dodgers Stadium Sunday, beating Los Angeles 4-1.

Regardless of the loss, rookie pitcher Caleb Ferguson had arguably the best of his three starts thus far. Ferguson struck out a total of six and finished off the last eight batters he faced before being pulled after five.

Dodger bats cooled significantly, with Sunday being the first time they’ve not hit a homerun in the past 14 games. A solid outing from Giant’s righty Chris Stratton seemed to be the primary cause of the lack of offensive support, as the only run scored by the Dodgers was on a wild pitch followed by a throwing error in the first.

The Dodgers head to Chicago for a rematch of the 2017 NLCS against the Cubs. Kenta Maeda (4-4, 3.61 ERA) will take the mound for Los Angeles.

Game time is 5:05 pm, PST.
