Dodgers Take Series; Look to Sweep Giants on Sunday

The Dodgers continued to stay hot Saturday night in Los Angeles, taking the series from the Giants in a 3-2 victory.

It came down to a two-run homer by Madison Bumgarner-killer Enrique Hernandez, who has dominated the Giant’s pitcher throughout his career. Hernandez is batting .455 and has four dingers against Bumgarner in 34 plate appearances.

It was certainly Hernandez’s night to shine, as he made a spectacular diving catch to snag Buster Posey‘s line drive in the second.

Matt Kemp also got a home run in the second, his 12th of the season.

Alex Wood (2-5) seemed to find his groove after a couple of tough outings. He went 5 2/3 innings while Kenley Jansen came in for the save, his 17th of the season.

After Sunday’s game, the NL West rivals won’t face off again until the final three games of the regular season.

The Dodgers look to get the sweep today. Game time is 1:10 pm, PST.
