Dodgers Acquire Jimmy Rollins from Phillies

JimmyRollins

The Los Angeles Dodgers Acquire Jimmy Rollins from Phillies for two prospects, Zach Eflin and Tom Windle. The Phillies will also include cash considerations to the Dodgers to complete the trade.

Rollins has one year left on his contract and is seen as a temporary stopgap for Dodgers prospect for Cory Seager. Rollins is said to have waived his 10 and 5 rights (no trade clause) to join the Dodgers. Rollins clubbed 17 HRs last year with the Phillies. Rollins also has the ability to steal bases. He will be joining the Dodgers after a 15 year career with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Eflin was traded to the Dodgers from the Padres in the Matt Kemp deal. Tom Windle was acquired from the Dee Gordon, Dan Haren trade in the Miami Marlins deal.
