Dodgers News: Dodgers Reportedly Sign Cuban Pitcher Yaisel Sierra

The Dodgers have reportedly signed Cuban right-handed pitcher Yaisel Sierra (25). The news was first reported on twitter this morning by Jeff Passan.

Sierra would be the third pitcher signed by the Dodgers in recent weeks to go along with the signings of Scott Kazmir and Kenta Maeda. The deal for Sierra is believed to be around $30 Million and six years. It was also reported that the Chicago Cubs and Miami Marlins were making a strong push for Sierra.

The Dodgers structure of their offer is what seems to put them in the lead and able to pull away.

There has been no official word yet from the Dodgers but the deal is being reported as being done.

Earlier reports suggested the Dodgers would like to groom Sierra as a starter, but they could use him in the bullpen.

We will update this page as more becomes available.
