Dodgers tender contracts to multitude of players

 Drew-Butera-Zack-Greinke AJ

The Dodgers had seven players that were tendered contracts for next season. The players that were eligible were A.J Ellis, Drew Butera, Kenley Jansen, Dee Gordon, Justin Turner, Juan Nicasio, and newly acquired Chris Heisey. Heisey was traded to the Dodgers for pitcher Matt Magill from Cincinatti.  Darwin Barney was eligible for arbitration but instead agreed to a one year deal, worth $2.525 million. Barney will most likely serve as a backup infielder/defensive replacement for the later innings.

A.J. Ellis, along with Drew Butera, add catching depth to the Dodgers. The Dodgers were definitely going to tender Kenley Jansen, Dee Gordon and Justin Turner, especially with the season all three players had. A.J. Ellis had a dismal offensive year, but turned it up during the playoffs. He also is Clayton Kershaw’s catcher and A.J. Ellis is known to be a great clubhouse guy.
